Two to four clinics. Real line items. Usually within 48 hours.

No fee to you. No spam. Your details go only to the clinics we shortlist for you.

The savings ledger

Pick a procedure. The grey bar is what Americans pay in cash at home; the green bar is what the same procedure typically costs in Colombia. Then type in the quote you already have.

These are typical 2026 ranges, not quotes. Your number depends on your case, and the clinic will confirm it after an evaluation. The point is the gap: it is usually large enough to cover flights, a recovery apartment and a driver, with most of the difference left over.

US ranges: posted all-inclusive cash prices and professional-society averages (Surgery Center of Oklahoma, ASPS, ASRM, dental fee surveys). Colombia ranges: clinic price lists and patient-reported totals gathered for our network, 2026. Flights and lodging not included.

Three reasons people leave the US and Canadian systems for a few weeks

No insurance, or a deductible that might as well be none

$17,679

That is the posted cash price for a total knee replacement at the most transparent surgery center in the US. Most hospitals will not post one at all. In Colombia, every quote we send is itemized to the line, and the total for most elective procedures lands at a third to a half of US cash prices.

US veterans: the Foreign Medical Program

38 CFR 17.35

The VA will pay for treatment of service-connected conditions outside the United States, and Colombia is where a lot of veterans already live. Get a predetermination first (it gives reasonable assurance, not a guarantee), keep it to service-connected care, and skip anything cosmetic. We help you assemble the packet.

Canadians: the waitlist is the diagnosis

30 weeks

Roughly the median wait from GP referral to treatment across Canada in the Fraser Institute's 2024 survey, with orthopedic waits stretching past a year in several provinces. A knee in Medellín can be consulted, scheduled and done inside a month, with the surgeon's name checkable in a national registry.

Why Colombia, and why now

Medical travel has a reputation problem built on cheap clinics in cheap countries. Colombia is neither. It is the most credentialed health system in Latin America, at Latin American prices, two to five hours from the US.

The equipment is the same brands you would see in Houston. The salaries, rents and malpractice premiums are not.

Ranked, not marketed

The World Health Organization ranked Colombia's health system 22nd in the world and 1st in the Western Hemisphere, ahead of the US and Canada (World Health Report, 2000). Colombian hospitals routinely fill the top spots in América Economía's annual ranking of Latin America's best.

Verifiable people

Every physician in Colombia is registered in ReTHUS, a public national database. We check it before a surgeon gets near your quote, and you can check it yourself. Hospitals with Joint Commission International accreditation can be confirmed in the JCI directory.

Modern kit

Femtosecond LASIK, digital implant planning, PGT-A embryo screening, robotic-assisted orthopedics: the equipment in the top Medellín and Bogotá hospitals is the same brands you would see in Houston. INVIMA, the national regulator, licenses the devices and the drugs.

A city you will want to recover in

Medellín sits at 1,500 metres with spring weather all year, a clean metro, and nonstop flights from Miami, Fort Lauderdale and New York. Patients recover in El Poblado and Laureles apartments with a driver on call. It is not a hospital compound. It is a place.

How a quote happens

You tell us the procedure and your situation

The form above takes two minutes. If you already have a US quote, a diagnosis, or imaging, attach it by email afterwards and the clinics will price against it.

We shortlist and verify

Two to four clinics that do this procedure well, at a hospital we have walked through, with surgeons we have checked in ReTHUS. We send them your case, not your inbox.

You get line items, then a video consult

Surgeon, anesthesia, facility, materials, follow-ups, and a clear list of what is not included. Pick one, book a video consult, and we handle dates, driver and recovery housing if you want it.

Questions people ask before they fill in the form

Is this free?

Yes. Clinics pay us a referral fee when you book. Your price is the clinic's price; we do not mark it up, and we tell you which clinics we have agreements with.

How do you pick the clinics?

Surgeons must be verifiable in ReTHUS, Colombia's national health registry. Hospitals are checked against the JCI directory. Because we are in Medellín, we visit facilities in person and we drop anyone who cannot answer a patient's questions in writing.

What will the quote actually include?

Surgeon fee, anesthesia, facility, implants or materials, pre-op labs, follow-up visits, and what is not included. If a clinic sends a single number with no line items, we send it back.

Is Colombia safe for a medical trip?

Patients stay in a handful of well-run districts (El Poblado, Laureles and Envigado in Medellín; Chapinero and Usaquén in Bogotá). We tell you plainly where to stay and where not to, a driver meets you at the airport, and someone from our team can accompany you to appointments.

Can the VA pay for this?

Sometimes. The Foreign Medical Program covers care for service-connected conditions outside the US, and it does not cover cosmetic work. Ask for a predetermination first; it gives reasonable assurance, not a guarantee. Details in our veterans guide.

Which country's prices are these?

Typical 2026 ranges in US dollars. US figures come from posted cash-pay prices and professional-society averages; Colombia figures come from clinic price lists and patient-reported totals. Your quote will be specific to you.
